Our Mission
Providing A Creative Experience With Clay

Ceramic Social allows people, whether traveling or after work, an opportunity to spend time away from their everyday life in a real artist's studio in Venice Beach, CA. Students get one on one attention to help them create whatever they can imagine in clay! Our mission is to create a fun experience for adults of all levels to come together and express their creative side. Come sip wine and snack after work while learning how to hand build out of clay.
Who We Are
Artist / Educator
Elizabeth N. Orleans was born in Philadelphia, PA. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree at California College of the Arts in Oakland, CA and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics at Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. She has also studied at Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, Clayworks in Santa Fe, Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, the Oregon School of Art and Craft in Portland, and the Studio Art Centers International in Florence, Italy.
Elizabeth began teaching at a housing project called the Lazarus Art Society in Portland, OR. She then moved to Philadelphia to work at the Clay Studio and helped teach The Clay Mobile, a traveling ceramic class for inner-city students. While getting her master's degree, she taught at Hawthorne Elementary in Oakland, CA. Once Elizabeth graduated, she continued teaching in the Bay Area to both youth and seniors at the Golden Gate Recreation Center in Oakland, Studio One in Oakland, and the Richmond Art Center. She was also an educator at Merritt College, Alameda College and ran an after-school program at the UC Berkeley University Village. Elizabeth has been excited to offer CERAMIC SOCIAL classes since 2017 at her Venice Beach studio.

About The Studio
A Venice Beach Landmark Location
Elizabeth Orleans moved to Venice Beach, CA in 2007. After ten months of searching for the perfect studio, she immediately fell in love with the old Coca-Cola bottling warehouse at 4th and Vernon in Venice, CA. The building was full of artists, and the Venice Art Walk offered opportunities and healthcare for anyone who needed it. The building was renovated for over six months in 2016 and after the reopening of Elizabeth Orleans Studio... CERAMIC SOCIAL began in May 2017. The class was on pause in 2020 and is excited to start back again summer 2021.
